Travel experts agree that you should travel with some of the local currency of the country you will be visiting. There are many expenses which can only be paid for in cash (example: taxi, public transport, tours, tips, etc.), not to mention that many businesses do not accept credit or debit cards. If you do withdraw cash using your debit card abroad, you will pay the fees and a higher rate of exchange charged by your bank, as well as ATM fees. Based on a survey conducted of our clients who returned from travelling abroad, we recommend bringing at least 35% of your travel budget in local currency.

We use the Canadian dollar as a base. It would be time consuming and ineffective to set daily rates for possible pairings that might otherwise not be necessary. Given the fact that we do not charge any commissions or service charges, it is not costing you anything extra. You are not paying more or receiving any less with this method. The rate you would get if we set a direct rate or the Globex buy rate of the currency you are holding, along with the Globex sell rate of the currency that you are purchasing; you will end up with the exact same amount in the end. This method is the same used to calculate the cross-rate. i.e.: USD to EUR (Example: You have 500USD and want to purchase Euro. Globex would buy your USD and sell you the Euro.)
Please note, this is true only due to the fact that Globex 2000 does not charge any fees, this may not be the case with other money service business’ or institutions.
